I can't believe a whole year has passed.
Here are a couple of pictures of my sister and mom at Sarah grave. They hadn't been out to the cemetery since the funeral, so they had never seen the headstone in person before.
The kids (especially Abi) had requested that on Sarah's birthday we send up balloons with notes on them. Since Sarah's birthday was on a Sunday, it made it a bit more tricky but our good friends the Eakins brought the balloons to church for us to pick up. (We can't thank you enough Sherri!)
We did have a slight dilemma with Nathan's balloon. There was a pesky wasp and a very long string that prevented his from joining the others. But after a little alteration it slowly started to rise and then once above the treeline it picked up speed to catch up with the others.
We also left a little decoration of balloons and packages in the grass and on Thursday Aunt K sent up a large yellow pinwheel to place out there.
On Saturday, we got out Sarah's chest and went through all the memorabilia in it. I also finished Sarah's book so we got to look through that as well. Overall, a good day of remember the good things to heal the bad. I'll go out sometime this next week and gather everything back in.
A year of hurt and healing past. A new year to begin moving forward appreciating the life we are given on earth and the life we will have in heaven.
