Miscarriage

Thank you to all who have been praying for us. We did had a miscarriage earlier today. While at the ER the doctor informed us that the ultrasound we had yesterday confirmed that we had a blighted ovum which basically means that the baby developed early on and then stopped developing leaving the pregnancy sack and placenta without a baby.

We feel that the miscarriage today was God's way of looking out for us as some women can go a long period of time knowing they don't have a baby and yet not miscarrying. God has been very faithful to us and has been with us the entire time. We are so thankful to him for his comfort and peace.

Please keep our family in prayer as we continue down the recovery road both emotionally and physically.

Abi's Snow Friend

We finally got enough snow for Abi to really play in. She would climb up the piles and call them her "mountains". Then one warmer morning, we all bundled up and Daddy helped Abi make a snowman, only Abi called it her "Snowfriend". She wanted two of them so they wouldn't be lonely outside but the second one didn't quite get stabilized and was lost fairly quickly. Anyway, here are those pictures:
Abi helping put a snowball on the snowfriend.
Here is a bigger one!
Admiring the completed Snowfriend
Nathan "daring" to touch the "ball". He really didn't like that cold stuff...most of the time outside he held onto me for dear life...this just happened to be a brave moment!

Expecting #3

Surprise! Sure enough, we had a doctor appointment today and he confirmed that we are expecting our third child! I am showing quite a bit already and after examination he decided that an ultrasound should be done to confirm the due date of August 29th. The ultrasound will be tomorrow and I'll let everyone know if I find out anything different.

On other news, Abigail said the cutest thing the other day. Marion was rocking Nathan and Abigail was trying to talk with him when she said "Daddy, you look me when you talk". It was pretty imaginative on her part...I don't think I have ever told her that and Marion said he hasn't so she came up with that all on her own.

Well, we will get a ticker at the top of the page to show the progress of our little one so you all can follow along in the count down with us. Have a great evening!

Nathan's 15 Month Check Up

Well, he made it through though he really doesn't like all the attention he gets at the doctor. The ladies at the desk said they could hear an unhappy camper in the back.

So, how did he do? He weighed in at 22 lbs 12 oz and was 78 cm tall which I found out was 30.7 inches when I got home. He is still in the 25% of weight and 50% of height. The doctor said he was still on the same curve so he wasn't concerned about the 25% weight. I asked if I should be feeding him anything more and he said not really, if he eats well that is good enough.

Nathan had a fever last night but today it was down and the doctor said he couldn't tell there was any sign of anything that would be of alarm. So we'll just see what happens with that.

Overall, Nathan is in good health and got a great report!

New Tickers

Well, what do you think of our new tickers...I have just discovered such fun things to add to our blog and I am sure as I learn more I will add more fun things or change the ones we have. I hope you enjoy watching as the days are counted down to these fun events.

Nathan has his 15 month check up today and so I'll try to give everyone an update when we get back home from that. He had a strange thing happen yesterday and I haven't figured out what is going on yet, but he had a fever of 103 last night but then this morning his temp was back to 96.8 and hasn't risen since? I don't know if it was my thermometer or what? I've switched thermometers and so we will see...

Anyway, hope you are all doing well. Post later after the doctor appt.

First Snow 2007 (or at least first playing in snow)

Well, it warmed up to 12 degrees this afternoon and I decided to take the kids out to play in the snow a bit. Fortunately we had some snow clothes for Abi and I layered Nathan pretty well. Abigail had a lot of fun playing but Nathan didn't like it so much. He tripped and fell toward the begining and he didn't like that cold stuff all over him. Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

First MOPS Meeting

Well, I thought I’d blog about our first MOPS meeting since so many of you have heard about that starting up.

We had our first meeting yesterday and I think it turned out just right!  We had two ladies come from the community and though there were seven ladies that had RSVPed to come the two were none of them.  We were supposed to have a winter storm of 1-2 inches come through and I think maybe that had an influence on people wanting to get out.  Who knows but overall I think it was just perfect because if we had had too many more kids we would have been in great trouble with the 3-5 year olds.  We did not have near the activities we should have had for them.  So it worked out that we only had two additional mothers come.

I think all the ladies there had a great time.  One of the funny things for me was that my co-coordinator says she isn’t a crafty person and has tried to dodge the craft thing the whole time.  Well, we got to doing the craft yesterday and she made FIVE!  She got going and thought it was so much fun!  I just sat back and laughed!

Overall I think the volunteers had an enjoyable time, though like I said I think the Explorer Workers were a little more stressed by not having enough activities.  Overall I think we learned some great things and have some great ideas of where we need to do some work with the next meetings!

Thanks for all your prayers and support. WE are so excited to have this ministry going!
