Merry Christmas!!!

What a wonderful day! After Daddy got chores done, we all sat around the living room and opened our presents.

Jonathan and Nathan got brother tractors! Unfortunately, most of Nathan's were blurry...so maybe I can get a picture sometime of the two of them together with their tractors!

Abigail got clothes for her Faith & Friends doll - Mary Sue - she got a shirt, pair of pants, a skirt, boots and socks.

Usually, Marion and I do a bigger gift for each other and so we don't get Christmas day gifts...and we did have several things that would have qualified, but I had an option to get him a DVD of this comedian he like from Godtube...so I got it! He was surprised!

And I was surprised when I walked out of the bedroom this morning and found a rose on the table with a note that said...You are Special to Me....Marion wanted me to know that this Christmas!

Our Sixth day of Christmas

Well, things didn't go as we had originally planned for the day so we didn't actually open presents until Christmas morning...but hey...more presents to open at one time.
You'll see everyone wearing the same clothes...so I wanted to explain!

This day was themed around games....

Jonathan got a barrel of monkeys

Nathan got Don't Spill the Beans

Abigail got Coutie

Marion got the last year of coins!

And Grandma Makey got some lotion stuff...

My present is in route...I got one of the books in the series I am reading!

Seven Steps

Yes, Jonathan took seven steps today!  We were all in the kitchen and he was over by the refrigerator.  Grandma Makey saw him stand up from a squat and proceed to take seven rather shaky steps!  By the time I got the camera, he had already fallen!  We tried to get him to do it again, but he was not interested in our motivation!  He just sat down and crawled!

We'll have to see...he may get this before Christmas yet!

One more day to go in the days of Christmas 08

Today is the last day of the little days...tomorrow - being Christmas Eve - we have a bigger gift!

With Grandma Makey here - she got in on the gifts too.

As you can see from the picture below, Jonathan is still more interested in the paper then the actual present, but as long as he is having fun!

Nathan got a boom box truck...I tried to get him cars that he didn't already have.

Abigail got a broom and dustpan! She had been asking for one for awhile.

More CANDY for Daddy - Mommy got a pepsi - but I didn't get the picture uploaded!

Grandma Makey got truffles!

On the Fourth Day of Christmas my true love gave to me....

Jonathan got another ball! - Do you know how hard it is to find gifts for a one year old that are less than a dollar? (we put a limit on our days of christmas this year!)

Nathan and Abi got....CANDY!

Mommy got a Reeses!

And Daddy got more M&Ms!

Third Day of Christmas 2008

Sunday was a busy day with church, Christmas program practice and then the program itself, so we didn't get to open our presents until later in the afternoon.

Here is Jonathan...crazy boy! He was playing with a toy frog when I gave him the gift. Instead of putting it down, he shoved it in his mouth to grab the present!

Nathan got another car - actually it is a volkswagon!

Abigail got more rings and wrist bands.

Mommy got a bag of M&Ms.

And Daddy got chocolate covered cherries.

We have PLENTY of candy around for anyone who wants to stop by and have some!

Day Two of Christmas 2008

Day Two - the kids could hardly wait for today's present opening - we told them they had to wait until breakfast was over and so they barely ate anything! I bet they'll be hungry in an hour!

Anyway - here is Jonathan opening his first wrapped present - as anticipated - he was more interested in the paper! I got video of if going straight to the mouth!

Nathan and Abi got the same thing - a big chocolate bear!

Mommy got a fast break candy bar - I was wondering if Daddy was trying to say something (Mommy only gets fast breaks - no long ones:)

Daddy got peanut M&Ms...we have to have at least one bag of those M&Ms!

My new basement...

Well, okay...it isn't exactly NEW...but I did managed to get down stairs and clean it out. Then, we called the local flooring store and asked if they had any scraps or cheap something to cover the dirt...

Praise God, they had just recently torn out some carpet that was just three years old and in really good shape. Because they didn't have any use for it, but just couldn't justify throwing it away, they gave it to us for free if we'd come get it. We got two sections...the first one, covered from wall to wall the back half of the basement! God is so good!

It is really nice carpet, and our intentions are to rework the attic upstairs into a playroom/bedroom and so we decided to wait to cut that piece until we finish that project upstairs - we might have enough left over to carpet the attic and still have pieces to finish the basement...Did I mention - God is good!

Here are some pics:

This is immediately to the left when you come down the stairs, as you can see, it is nicely covered with a beautiful old lanolium. If we have any scraps left, we will try to cover this area last:

this is to the right of coming down the stairs:

To the left and far back side of the basement:

Shooting from the back of the basement to the front right side:

Looking from the stairway:

I hope you have enjoyed the tour of our newly redone basement...if you are completely confused...you'll just have to come and visit!

Deck the tree with felt orn-a-ments...fa, la-la, la-la, la-la, la, la

Well, we finally got the tree decorated...here are the pics of the evening:

The family putting on the garland:

Nathan's birth ornament shot was blurry, so here is his first Christmas ornament:

Marion read the Christmas story as the kids finshed decorating:

Hanging the felt ornaments (these ornaments were received from our tree fest winnings last year...since Jonathan is so young and curious we decided felt ornaments on the bottom would work great!)
