Just so it is actually recorded...IT WORKED...my bread experiment actually produced a very nice loaf of amazingly delicious bread:
Since this loaf, we have produced 4 actual loaves that looked amazing and tasted pretty good! (if I do say so myself) One of the loafs I mixed in some of the Italian Herb Seasoning and served it with Lasagna...it as yummmmmy! The kids devoured them both!
(Something interesting that I found out is that when I used all-purpose flour the starter did not ferment as nicely...but when I used our home grown wheat flour, the fermentation was very successful.)
